Sardar Udham Singh is based on the life of a revolutionary freedom fighter best known for assassinating Michael O'Dwyer in London to take revenge for 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar.

Sardar Udham Singh, Shoojit Sircar, Vicky Kaushal, Banita Sandhu, Jallianwala Bagh,

Director Shoojit Sircar and Writers Shubhendu Bhattacharya & Ritesh Shah have delivered a terrific, excruciating & an inspiring biopic that could possibly be one of the year's finest films.

It is an very well researched, well presented, well directed historical drama that packs so many emotions, this movie gives you the patriotism chills from the first scene itself, no extra drama or item songs, just raw and realistic.

The first half of the movie focuses on building character and context, shows the glance of people and the ideology of Britishers towards Indians and India. The second half will have a very strong impact on viewers, it follows the long wait of Sardar Udham for the assassination of Michael O'Dwyer, to jail custody scenes and the exceptional Jallianwala Bagh massacre scenes.

Sardar Udham Singh, Shoojit Sircar, Vicky Kaushal, Banita Sandhu, Jallianwala Bagh,

The last 50 minutes of this movie depicting the Jallianwala Bagh massacre is so painful to watch, the whole sequence was so brilliantly portrayed, gives chill through out the scenes, so real and raw. The background score through out the Jallianwala Bagh sequence was so haunting and dark.

The bonus point of the movie was the Cinematography, it's so fresh and beautiful.

There are several scenes which are very thought provoking, that will stay with you long for a very long time.

Some of my favourite scenes are :-

1. When an character asks Bhagat Singh, "Acha bhagat, aazadi milte hi sabse pehle kya karoge aap?"

Bhagat Singh replies, "Aazaadi ki shaam ko mai sabse pehle ek Charlie Chaplin ki film dekhunga, ek mehengi si British wine khareedunga aur ik mem de naal ball room paavanga. Bas fir ghar jaa ke, roti khaa ke so jaunga. Fir subah uthunga, naha dhoke, roti khaa ke fir sojaunga"

Sardar Udham Singh, Shoojit Sircar, Vicky Kaushal, Banita Sandhu, Jallianwala Bagh,

2. When Vicky Kaushal goes in the Jallianwala Bagh and asks, "Koi Zinda Hae".

3. One of the best scene was when, Bhagat Singh explains the difference between an Revolutionary and Terrorist, Brilliant.

4. And ofcourse when Vicky says, Tell the World, I was a revolutionary.

5. And the Highlight was the court room scene, Acting and Direction were in Top Notch.

Overall, it is an must watch movie.
