NATURAL BEAUTY OF NAGALAND.

The Naga Hills rise from the Brahmaputra Valley in Assam and rise further to the southeast, this is where the Naga Hills merge with the Patkai Range in which form the boundary with Burma. Rivers such as the Doyang and Diphu to the north, the Barak river in the southwest, dissect the entire state. Twenty percent of the total land area of the state is covered with wooded forest, a haven for flora and fauna. The evergreen tropical and subtropical forests are found in strategic pockets in the state.

1. Dzüko Valley

The Dzüko Valley is a valley located at the borders of the states of Nagaland and Manipur in Northeast India. It is situated at an altitude of 2452 m above sea level. The valley is famous for its wide range of flowers in every season but the most famous one is the Dzüko Lily and it is found only in this valley. 


2. WAR CEMETERY

The Kohima War Cemetery is located in the center of Kohima city, Kohima War Cemetery is a memorial dedicated to soldiers of the 2nd British Division of the Allied Forces who died in the Second World War at Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, in April 1944. The soldiers died on the battleground of Garrison Hill in the tennis court area of the Deputy Commissioner's residence. 

3. KISAMA HERITAGE VILLAGE

Kisama is another heritage village located 13 kilometres south of Kohima city. The Hornbill Festival is celebrated every year from December 1 to 10, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and tradition of the Nagas in one platform at Naga Heritage Village Kisama.


4. SHILLOI LAKE

Lake Shilloi is a natural lake in Phek District, Nagaland. It is the largest natural lake in Nagaland. It falls in a valley surrounded with pine forests. A beautiful foot shaped lake in the heart of the Patkai range of Nagaland, Shilloi Lake is a very picturesque destination with verdant valley surrounding it from all sides. 

5. MOUNT SARAMATI

Saramati is a peak rising above the surrounding peaks at the mountainous border of Nagaland state and the Sagaing Region, Burma. It is located near Thanamir Village in the Kiphire District of Nagaland.


With a height of 3,826 m and a prominence of 2,885 m, Saramati is one of the ultra prominent peaks of Southeast Asia.
It is the abode of one of the Pristine Forest of Nagaland and house to the variety of flora and fauna.
